"Welcome to my music studio. I started Stichka Music Studio because I love teaching and I love making music. So, naturally, I couldn't be happier doing what I'm doing: teaching, writing and performing music!" -Taylor
Taylor Stichka has a passion for music...and it shows.
Taylor is an active musician with over 25 years of experience. He believes that the arts provide us a window into what it means to be human, to have an emotional attachment and a desire for something beyond ourselves. That is why he plays, writes, teaches and performs music.
At Stichka Music Studio, a passion for music is at the very heart of every lesson and class, as well as in the heart of this talented instructor. It is Taylor's strong intention to also cultivate and nurture that passion in the heart of each of his students.
Individuals have individual needs.
Taylor is an elementary school teacher with 8 years of experience teaching ages 5-12. His classroom experience makes him uniquely qualified to provide a student-centered approach to learning music. It has also afforded him the ability to skillfully teach small group lessons, which can be of enormous benefit to many young students.
Taylor has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with endorsements in Music, Mathematics, and ESL. He is also currently pursuing a Masters of Education in Educational Technology at Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, and is excited to find new and innovative ways to integrate technology meaningfully in all of his classrooms.
All of these achievements, and more, make him a well-rounded instructor with the skills necessary to accommodate a wide variety of different learning styles, as is required by each of his unique students.
Students are at the center.
At Stichka Music Studio, each student receives a fluid, customized lesson plan based on his or her interests, strengths and weaknesses. Students are encouraged to pursue their own interests in a way that maximizes their learning experience. By focusing on genres, songs, and techniques that are exciting to the student, a strong determination to practice and progress is born.
As the skills and interests of each student evolve organically, so do lessons and curricula. This kind of student-centered learning is only possible in a small, independent music studio with flexible, yet focused instruction. The student is at the center of learning at Stichka Music Studio, and as for what he or she can accomplish, the sky is the limit.
Family comes first.
At Stichka Music Studio, this isn't just principle, it's practice. Generous discounts are offered to all families who enroll multiple students in lessons or classes. After the first student, each family member enrolled receives an additional $2.00 discount off the price of their lesson or class. Stichka Music Studio is committed to affordability and looks forward to making you a part of their family.
